Does RSD cause nausea? (also depression, insomnia, etc?)
Firstly can I say how sad it is to hear from people with nausea as well as pain - nausea is such an unpleasant feeling - I think we can all empathise with that.

Chronic pain unfortunately does not come alone. Chronic pain syndrome - which RSD falls into - classically brings a wealth of other debilitating symptoms such as lethargy, anorexia (loss of appetite), insomnia (sleep disturbance), headaches, reduced immunity, nausea and (unsurprisingly) depression - and with RSD you also have the symptoms of limb discoloration, swelling and possible functional loss. All very nasty. Knowing this doesn't particularly help apart from knowing that your symptoms are not unexpected.

The problem is sorting out the wood from the trees. Many medications have side effects - and a very common drug side effect is nausea. Ironically drugs that are given to reduce nausea can in 'some' instances make it worse. RSD patients are often on multiple drug therapies.

So is it the drugs - or is it the pain - difficult to know.
