Comments

Baclofen is for muscle spasms. I find that this does help somewhat, on the days it is not so bad, but as far as immediate relief not. Baclofen is a schedule going RX. You are to take it four times a day. I feel this drug could benefit me better if the pain was not so bad. The spasms have decreased since taking this med but the pain is still intense. Amanda - USA

I see a lot of British people are on Baclofen and I want to warn you not to go off that drug all at once. It is one of those types of drugs that must be tapered down slowly. If you rush the withdrawal you may risk serious side effects, and I mean serious - such as seizures. So if you decide it isn't working and want to go off of it, please make sure you do it with your doctor's knowledge, and at the rate he tells you to. In the States we are using a drug called Zanoflex (my doctor was on the trials of this drug) and I have found it to be much more effective, and not quite as hazardous. I have a seizure disorder caused by the CRPS, and I was at one time taking Baclofen so, between me and my neurologist, we decided it wasn't such a good idea being on a drug that could promote seizures. When I have seizures they can last up to 6 minutes and I can lose up to 4 year's of memory.
