Comments

I was prescribed Lofepramine 70Mg, two a day, one first thing, the other before 4 pm. I suffered dry mouth, sleeplessness, indigestion, dizziness, lack of appetite all within the first 10 days, then an increasing amount of blurred vision that led to me coming off the drug. Has anyone else had blurred vision, and how long did it last? How long before your vision got back to normal? I only had it in one eye.

After three days on no drug, I was prescriped Cipramil, and the blurred vision seems to be worse again, so I have been advised to come off that too. Jane- Basildon, Essex, UK

I have blurred vision, tremors, severe weight gain, self harmed (with no prior history), suicidal thoughts (no prior history) acne and hair loss. Rebecca - Manchster, England

I have been taking Cipramil for about 14 weeks. Since the end of the first couple of weeks I have not been able to sleep due to a horrendous irritating cough which wakes me up (and everyone else in the house). It is just as troublesome during the day too and I am at my wits end. I can't sleep and I can't work properly. has anyone else had the same experience? Su - Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, UK

I have been on more than seven different medications for depression and anxiety disorder and I have found cipramil the most effective in treating my anxiety and mood. I find if I wean myself off I tend to have an initial "high" period but after that I tend to revert to being very irritable and stressed. The main side effects that I have noticed is that my hands and feet are always sweaty, my concentration when driving is very lax and that my libido has totally vanished. I would be interested in hearing from other people who have had similar symptoms (in the libido area) and whether there are any treatments (homeopathic or otherwise) which may be helpful. Mel - Wellington, New Zealand

Just to reply to Mel from Wellington, NZ email. I too have found Cipramil the most effective medication I have taken for anxiety and depression but have had exactly the same side effects - loss of concentration, very sweaty hands and feet and complete loss of libido. However, it's better than being permanently anxious!! I have not found any successful treatments yet for these side effects; sorry. Abby - Malvern, Worcestershire, UK

I have been on Cipramil for about 5 years. I have no side affects as discribed by others. I take one very week and it helps me with stress. I have never tried anything else, so Ican't compare it with others. Tomas -Dublin, Ireland
