Comments

I was prescribed Lofepramine 70Mg, two a day, one first thing, the other before 4 pm. I suffered dry mouth, sleeplessness, indigestion, dizziness, lack of appetite all within the first 10 days, then an increasing amount of blurred vision that led to me coming off the drug. Has anyone else had blurred vision, and how long did it last? How long before your vision got back to normal? I only had it in one eye.

After three days on no drug, I was prescriped Cipramil, and the blurred vision seems to be worse again, so I have been advised to come off that too. Jane- Basildon, Essex, UK

I have been on Citalopram for 7 months and it has helped greatly with the panic attacks and anxiety I was experiencing. However, part of the reason for the anxiety was that I developed floaters in my eyes and tinnutis in my ears. I still have both of these but I am also experiencing constant shifts in focus in my eyes. I occasionally feel a bit panicky about this.

I have had several eye tests and checked by the local eye hospital but they cannot find a problem and no-one seems particularly interested in the floaters. I wear both contact lenses and glasses and swap these about but it doesn't seem to make much difference. Susan - Liverpool, UK

I have been on 20mg of Citalopram for 3 years! When I first went on them, I felt so sick for 2 weeks, I was actually waking up in the night thinking I was going to puke! Everything went fine, apart from I found myself very "Hyper" and didn't feel like myself.
I recently moved house, and the stress got too much, so the doctor upped my dose to 40mg. I was on that dose for 2 months, then I started to feel a lot bette. I dropped my dose to 20mg, by myself, and was so impressed that 3 weeks later I stopped completely, MISTAKE!! I am now feeling these sort of electrical pulses through my body. Whenever I turn my head, my brain feels like it is staying in the same place, even if I look somewhere. It feels like I am going round a roundabout! I am sweating buckets! I have to have 3 showers a day, and wipe all the sweat off of me.
I refuse to go back on these tablets, so I will go cold turkey! Stuff what the doctors say. But I really think that you should listen to your Doc, as these withdrawal symptoms are horrible! Good luck if you are coming off them! Kristina - Hairmyres, Scotland
