Hypericum |
|
Description |
Hypericum is not, strictly, a drug. It is a homeopathic remedy that can be bought over-the-counter without prescription. Homeopathy has detractors, but is widely used with satisfactory reports from users, and rare (if any) side effects. |
Side effects(Don't be unduly alarmed. All drugs cause side effects for some patients) |
|
Warnings(These are standard cautions but may not be applicable to your case) |

| I have recently been diagnosed with RSD following ankle surgery to a fracture. I wanted to write and say that the most effective thing I ever did was before I knew I had RSD - a terrible burning pain led me to a professional homeopath and I was prescribed hypericum 200c dissolved in water. Sipping this whenever I had an attack brought instant relief. I now have stiffness and other pain (numbness etc from a damaged nerve and sensitivity) and am not fantastically mobile or anything; BUT I don't have the burning really bad nerve pain anymore. I just thought that others might want to know about this treatment as it does no harm and it could do some real good. (I understand that hypericum is "the" homeopathic treatment for nerve pain; all I can say is that it helped me dramatically). I'm happy to have my comments published in your "drugs" pages. As the intervention so strongly helped m - I'm actually quite keen for others to know about it, so they can try it too, if they wish. Obviously I can't be completely certain, but from what I've read about rsd etc, I feel pretty sure that without the early hypericum intervention, things could have been far worse. I should also add that I'm also now having more intensive physio and doing lots of exercises. Also my physio is very into positive thinking, which is personally helpful and keeps the motivation up even when there aren't desperately dramatic results just very slow marginal improvements. If anyone wants to contact me about it via RSD Alert I'd be happy to help. Ann Burton - UK | |
