Brufen is one of the brand names for Ibuprofen and I think a few people take this. It is an anti-inflammatory drug which is used for all kinds of pain relief and fevers. It is an NSAID which is a non narcotic pain reliever.Yes I have found it to be of some help to me as it has helped with the pain in my joints and also when I have had headaches caused by inflammation in my neck. - Wendy, Wellington, New Zealand I have used Ibuprofen 400 mg for many years with effects which
were completely advantageous to me as a sufferer from osteo-arthritis.
However, having knee replacement surgery which has left me with
what is called "heart failure", a cardiac specialist
told me not to take the drug anymore, nor use the ointment Traxam
as it causes fluid retention. The Heart Site could not tell me
what is in the drug and just stated "cintraindiction"
or "contraindiction". Their spelling appeared to be
a bit muddled, though I had never heard of the terminology. The
banning of the drug is disastrous to me as the alternative - paracetamol
- doesn't help me as much. One either stays crippled & in
pain or risks stomach ulcers. GM - Hayward's Heath, West Sussex,
