Comments

The doctor gave me a gel Ketamine 50mg/ml gel. This works well at night time. During the day it works if my sock in my shoe doesn't move a lot. Linda - Bangor, Pennsylvania, USA

Ketamine is given typically in the U.S.A. as a gel, which does actually relieve burning RSD pain, but is quite costly (there are also other drugs in the gel). Amanda - Pennsylvania, USA

RSD Hope have published a page on "low dose" Ketamine. To see the page go to www.rsdhope.org/ShowPage.asp?PAGE_ID=82

I have had Ketamine Infusion therapy and am now pain-free after 3 years of suffering. Here is an article that has been published by my Doc about the new treatment... http://www.rsds.org/Harbut_Correll_Treatment_of_CRPS_with_IV_Ketamine.pdf
Please take the time to read it - it is VERY hopeful and is being done, though somewhat differently, in other countries with great success. Cheryl - USA

The IV low dose Ketamine involves a 5 day admission to the hospital. It is approved by almost no health insurance companies and the treatment is about 25,000 US dollars that I will have to pay myself. Follow up treatment is a booster dose once a month. This is only second best to the coma treatment done in Germany. But coma treatment, even with its high success rate for full body RSD, is outlawed in the US for now. Joan - USA
