Comments

A French study evaluated the efficacy of treatment with pamidronate in 29 patients with RSD(60 mg/day for 3 days). By day 45, 86.2% of patients reported that pain had disappeared and 70% showed signs of functional improvement. On average, their pain disappeared in about 2 weeks and functional improvement was observed in about 3 weeks. Improvement seemed to come sooner in patients with post-traumatic RSD. Further studies are planned, including full 'double blind' placebo trials. Information provided by Barry Swallow of RSD-CRPS UK
