Paracetamol is an exceedingly dangerous drug - in only mild over dosage (8 tabs - 4grms in one dose) it can cause total liver failure - I have seen several deaths due to this usually in young people who do not understand the danger. That why they restricted the sales unit to 32 tabs per packet. (Run that past me again - 32 in one dose would be fatal!). Makes a lot of sense doesn't it.... Dave - a nurse in Wales (Dave runs the SKIPS website for children with RSD) I notice that 2 of your correspondents are taking Paracetamol doses of up to 12 grams in 24 hours. I have unfortunately witnessed patients die from a Paracetamol overdose of as little as 8 grams. The very worrying aspect of their addiction is not just the dependence on the opiod effects of this drug but the risk of liver failure and death from the Paracetamol doses.
