Right now Percocet seems to being doing the trick for me. I know there is quite a lot of controversy about narcotics and RSD and I'm not sure I understand it all especially because it seem to be about sleep and not being able to get your REM if you take narcotics. Even when I wasn't taking narcotics, I wasn't getting any sleep so that one has me stumped. Trish Pennsylvania, USA

I was prescribed Percocet after enough complaining to my doctor that Darvocet did not work. I am to take this every 4 hours. I have been in so much pain lately I feel nothing is helping. I have doubled up on the dose, which helps some. The pain is still noticeable but bearable if I avoid putting weight on my legs. Amanda - USA

I am currently taking 6 Percocet a day with Ultram added recently as an "in between doses" alternative. It is helping me but I think that I am in need of a change due to tolerance and immunity. My doctor and I are discussing it. Mick - South Carolina USA

We are passing along a national alert from the American Pain Foundation, APF;

Acetaminophen Medications in Jeopardy-APF Needs Your Help!

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is considering advice from its Advisory Committee that would eliminate all prescription acetaminophen combination medications (like Vicodin, Percocet). Additionally, they are recommending taking the 500 mg (extra strength) dose of acetaminophen (Tylenol) off store shelves and making it available only by prescription. We need you to Take Action by going to the website below and signing the petition;

Our position is simple: We can address the problem of harmful overuse of acetaminophen by conducting a major and sustained public education program about the risks and safe use of acetaminophen and by better labeling of medicines that contain acetaminophen. Taking products off the market is over-reacting and can be harmful to millions of people who rely on these medicines for effective pain management.

The deadline for signing the petition is September 27th 2009 -don't delay, sign today!
