Phenoxybenzamine hydrochloride

Description
A vasodilator supplied in the form of capsules or as ampoules (for injection). Also supplied under the proprietary name, Dibenyline. Often used to treat high blood pressure or to improve conditions resulting from poor circulation or abnormal secretion of adrenal hormones.
Side effects

(Don't be unduly alarmed. All drugs cause side effects for some patients)

Increased heart rate, dizziness (especially when standing up from sitting or lying down) lethargy. Sometimes causes nasal congestion and/or contraction of the pupils. Occasionally results in gastro-intestinal disturbance or ejaculation failure.
Warnings

(These are standard cautions but may not apply in your case)

Use with caution for patients who have heart disease, impaired kidney function, who have severe arteriosclerosis or who are elderly.

Comments

Dibenyline (phenoxybenzamine) - made by Smith Kline Beecham or WellSpring Pharm - at least partly helped me to achieve a remission and is useful for all of symptoms of RSD. It creates a chemical "Sympathetic Blockade", though not complete, of course, since it's systemically taken. Amanda - Phildelphia, USA
