Comments

Anti-depressant: Effexor (Venlafaxine HCL), Paxil (Paroxetine HCL), Zololf (Sertraline), Celexa (citalopram hydrobromide), Prozac (Fluoxetine HCL), Wellbutrin (Bupropion HCL) and Elavil (Amitriptyline HCL). I have even taken Buspar (Buspirone HCL) and Xanax (Alprazolam) which technically are anti-anxiety meds). Of this list the only one that I have had BAD adverse reactions to is Elavil. I am now taking Prozac. Although I have a kidney condition and was concerned about the side effects, I find the benefits outweigh the risk . Vicki - Walsall, England

I took Prozac for 2 years. The only drawback it takes 2-3 months before you feel any benefit from them. (So don't give up). When I felt stronger in myself I found it was much better to wean off the tablets gradually (say 1 tablet every 3 days then to 1 tablet every week until I stopped) otherwise the depression came back.
