Right now I'm getting physical therapy for my back and shoulder and I take elavil and vicodin. Giselle - USA Many thanks to Jill (Wisconsin, USA) for providing further information about this medication. It took a few days with VicodinHP as my breakthrough pain med. The immense pain is gone! I still have the burning sensation though. I also have very itchy skin all over. Will this pass? Linda - USA The vicodin and motrin do not get rid of the pain it dulls it. Karen - Tampa, Florida, USA We are passing along a national alert from the American Pain Foundation, APF; Acetaminophen Medications in Jeopardy-APF Needs Your Help! The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is considering advice from its Advisory Committee that would eliminate all prescription acetaminophen combination medications (like Vicodin, Percocet). Additionally, they are recommending taking the 500 mg (extra strength) dose of acetaminophen (Tylenol) off store shelves and making it available only by prescription. We need you to Take Action by going to the website below and signing the petition; Our position is simple: We can address the problem of harmful overuse of acetaminophen by conducting a major and sustained public education program about the risks and safe use of acetaminophen and by better labeling of medicines that contain acetaminophen. Taking products off the market is over-reacting and can be harmful to millions of people who rely on these medicines for effective pain management. The deadline for signing the petition is September 27th 2009 -don't delay, sign today! http://action.painfoundation.org/site/MessageViewer?em_id=10561.0&printer_friendly=1
