Margo - Oregon, USAHello, my name is Margo and I live in Oregon. I just moved here from
California. I have been through 5 doctors in the last year, since coming
here, and am seeing a new one on Friday. 2 doctors ago I had one who
said I was a "drug seeker" and only gave me Tylenol #3 before
dropping me. The last doctor tried to get me to go into a drug treatment
center! He gave me m.s.contin 15 mg. Xq12h. They didn't help for very
long and so my husband called him and asked for something for breakthrough
and what I got was the statement that he would like to refer me to the
rehab. Pam - USAMy name is Pam I am 41 years old and I have had RSD since 1997. It started after I had a ganglion cyst removed from my right wrist. I have been to specialist, doctors, physical therapy, in and out of pain clinics. I have been through 3 blocks and numerous injections - many didn't last - and I have tried 100 different pills. I have had all kinds of tests, and it has spread to my arms, shoulders, neck and now my back and legs. There are days I cannot walk. I can't use my hands because of the burning and swelling, and the pain is constant . I also have migraine headaches, osteo arthritis, blurred vision, and bulge disc c5 c6. Right now I am on promethazine, neurontin, darvocet, amitriptylene, zanaflex and ultram. I also have problems with my stomach. I have degenerative disc disease, which is and awful pain to deal with daily and I have to have to have help with washing myself as I can't stand anything touching my body. I cannot work because I get dizzy spells and with all my medical problems along with my RSD it is impossible. I would like to know why you can't get any help when you are not able to work. I guess my advice is pray and be willing to try to fight this. Charles - Concord, CaliforniaI am a 39 year old male and have had eight back surgeries... Everything
from a simple lami-to pedical screws and rods L5-S1. Each time I have
been on 360 ms-contin for a couple of years and can take even more than
that without side effects (respiration etc.). I don't want to take the
morphine any more, however. I was stared at by my doctor as if I was
dying of this; but I refuse to die. I was a world champion water skier
and then did well at snow skiing. A couple of years ago I purchased
a sail boat - but now I can't to sail anymore. But I refuse to give
up living. This is not a personal ad
I have been through all this
and I run a pain support group (though I can't go to them now since
our clinic charges them). |
