"The
well-rested person never needs an alarm clock," says James B. Maas,
Ph.D., author of 'Power Sleep.' To achieve this state of grace, try the
following:
Stick to a schedule: Get up at the same time every morning, no matter how
poorly you slept the night before. Try to keep on schedule even on weekends;
oversleeping on your days off confuses your body come Sunday evening. "The
more regular our sleep-wake schedule,"says Maas, "the more alert
we'll be."
Exercise: Get as much aerobic exercise as you can - ideally, a total of
at least 30 minutes per day of walking, running, or climbing stairs.
