Bone Densitometry

Description
A non-invasive technology used to measure bone mass. Most commonly used method for measuring bone mass is called Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry.
Notes

 

The patient lies motionless on a flat padded table while the arm of the instrument passes over the whole body, or selected area. A low dose x-ray from below the table passes through the area measured.
