Water Therapy

Description
An exercise treatment used for a variety of conditions. Exercise in a pool has the benefit of support from the water and, for some, the warmth of the water is also helpful.

I started aquatic therapy this week and all is not going as expected. The therapist suggested WATSU an AICHI. Has anyone had these forms of therapy and have they helped? Sandy - UKt

Have you tried aqua therapy? It must be in a very warm pool. Over 90 degrees. I have kept full mobility and not as much atrophy as I once had in my right arm. It has spread to the left, then back and shoulders and maybe going to left ankle. Lots of gentle massage with lotion, vitamin E or Aloe, and warm water exercise is the answer for health and exercise. It does not really relieve the pain much but is worth it to keep mobility. There are several therapists that
specialize in water therapy. Try to find one, you must have warm water. cooler water will make you hurt more. A spa tub with jets is great. Leona - USA

I have hypersensitivity and it hurts to have anything touch my knee. One thing that helps my knee is aquatic therapy. The pool is a SWIMEX POOL and the water temperature is 92 degrees. The moment I get in I feel much better. I have RSD in my right knee. I been dealing with it since Dec. 2000. The aquatic therapy is the best treatment I have had. David - UK
